Exergen Forehead Thermometer

The weather changing means flu season is here, and just about everyone has had a cold. We’ve had our fair share of colds in my house, especially with my 4-year old starting school for the first time and being exposed to other kids and their nasty germs. We’ve been lucky enough to not have the flu, let’s hope I didn’t just jinx us. I think it’s very important to get an accurate temperature reading and I find that those traditional digital thermometers don’t always do what they are supposed to. That is why I am so excited about the Exergen Temporal Thermometer.

Exergen Temporal ThermometerWith the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer you can rest assured that you are going to get an accurate reading in only 2-3 seconds.  Simply run it across in the forehead and then release the button. Long gone are the days have having to hold a crying baby down long enough to get a reading under their arm or for older kids making them keep their mouths shut only hoping they actually have the thermometer under their tongue. The Exergen Thermometer is less invasive-using the same technology that has become the method of choice for premier hospitals around the county. The Exergen TemporalScanner gauges body temperature by capturing the naturally emitted heat from skin over the temporal artery, which runs across the forehead and is directly connected to the heart via the carotid artery.

The Exergen Thermometer runs off of 1 ‘D’ battery which is actually included. Remember, the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometerisn’t just for babies and children, it works great for adults too. You can find the Exergen Thermometer at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Costco, Babies R Us, Toys R Us and Sam’s Clubs nationwide and costs less than $40.

  1. This is fantastic. So much better than the alternatives and much easier!

  2. I absolutely love my forehead thermometer. Makes taking temperatures of the babies while sleeping a heck of a lot easier!

  3. Jayne Townsley says:

I love this thermometer. I won one in a blog giveaway over 2 years ago and it still works great. I used it at my daycare class and it was much better than the ear one because even the ear one can hurt.

  4. Great Review but you didn’t do it right. You have to hold the button in place it in the middle of his forehead and run it across in the hairline and then release the button. I have the exergen to review as well. If you go to the website it will show you in a video how to do it. Don’t want to be a butt, just want you to know the correct way in case it isn’t reading the right temperature that way. :)

  5. I love my exergen! There is no going back to the ol’ thermometer now! Glad you were able to review this. And Sean is so cute! I can’t believe how big he’s gotten!

  6. That looks very easy to use! Glad they came up with something to simple. Makes sense. Your head is where you get hot!

  7. I swear all you youngin’s get the best stuff. We had  the regular thermometer when my kids were small OR a piece of garbage strip you put on their forheads and each block changed color to indicate a fever. it so didn’t work. this looks awesome “)
